Ecliptic is a local recurring-cost observatory. Your charges live on this iPhone. Household and Backup, when you turn them on, use your iCloud.
Common fixes
- A reminder did not appear: open Settings in the app and grant notification permission. If iOS shows Denied, use the button that opens system Settings. Reminders fire at the lead time and clock time you set for each charge, and will not schedule in the past.
- Totals look wrong: edit the amount or cadence. Yearly total is weekly × 52, monthly × 12, or yearly as entered. Checking is the sum of spendable account balances; paychecks add; charges with a paid-from account debit on due day.
- A charge vanished from the orrery: check Archive, or switch the Orbit / List / Categories control on the home screen.
- Widgets show old numbers: open the app once so the store and timelines refresh.
- License: Settings → License shows the plan on this Apple ID, renewal or end date for monthly, and Restore. If monthly ends, the unlock screen comes back. Purchases are billed by Apple; use Restore on a new iPhone signed into the same Apple ID.
- Household: Settings → Household. Sign in to iCloud first. Invite from the owner’s iPhone; the other person opens the link on a real device (Simulator sharing is unreliable). Stop sharing or Leave to go back to this iPhone only.
- Backup: Settings → Backup. Pick an iCloud Drive folder, choose weekly or monthly, or tap Back up now. Restore replaces local data; if a household is on, the restored file is then pushed to iCloud.
There is no Ecliptic account. Unlock is an App Store monthly plan or lifetime purchase. If something is broken, write to support@pjs-apps.com and include the app version from Settings and what you expected to happen. Do not send bank passwords or card numbers.
