These terms govern your use of Ecliptic. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, delete the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Ecliptic on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store terms. We retain all rights in the software, name, and design. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or misrepresent the app as your own product.
2. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
Ecliptic is a calculator and organizer for amounts you type. It does not connect to a bank. Totals are only as accurate as the numbers and dates you enter. Nothing in the app is financial advice, tax advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to cancel or keep a service. You remain responsible for your bills and records.
3. Accuracy
Charge dates advance on the device after a date passes, using simple weekly, monthly, or yearly steps. Calendar quirks (for example, January 31 plus one month) follow the operating system. We do not warrant that totals, reminders, or dates are complete or error-free.
4. Purchase and refunds
The iOS app is free to download. Full use requires a monthly auto-renewable subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, both sold through the App Store (monthly [MONTHLY PRICE, e.g. $2.99 USD], lifetime [LIFETIME PRICE, e.g. $39.99 USD], as you configure them). Apple attaches that license to the purchaser’s Apple ID. Payment, taxes, Family Sharing if you enable it, restore, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s Media Services terms. We do not take card numbers, we do not see your Apple ID, and we do not run our own license server. If a monthly plan ends or is refunded, the app returns to the unlock screen until a current license is present on that Apple ID.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, to store others’ personal data without a right to do so, or to interfere with the operating system. If you invite someone to a household, you are responsible for who you invite and for what they can see.
6. Intellectual property
Ecliptic, the orbital interface, and related original artwork are owned by PJS Apps except for Apple system fonts and frameworks. “Every $ counts” is used as a descriptive subtitle.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation or that reminders will fire if the system denies permission, if you force-quit repeatedly, or if the device is powered off.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PJS Apps WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR MISSED PAYMENTS, ARISING FROM THE APP OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID APPLE FOR THE APP (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
9. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify PJS Apps against claims arising from your misuse of the app or your violation of these terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
10. Privacy
Use is also governed by the Privacy Policy in the app. If these terms and the policy conflict on data handling, the Privacy Policy controls for that subject.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may stop distributing the app. Sections that by nature should survive (license restrictions, disclaimers, liability limits) survive.
12. Apple as third-party beneficiary
You acknowledge that Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple is not a party to these terms besides that beneficiary status and Apple’s own App Store rules.
13. Changes
We may update these terms when the product changes. Continued use after an in-app update that presents revised terms means you accept the revision.
